The variety of Omskaya-36 soft spring wheat was produced by the Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture.

Variety pedigree: Lutescens 150/86-10/ Runar (Norway).

Botanical characteristics: A variety of lutescens. The bush is intermediate. The culm is hollow or feebly made, light yellow in color. The variety is distinguished by a more elongated spiciferous internode. The flag leaf is intermediate, with medium pubescence. The wax bloom on the upper internode is medium, green color, and lack of anthocyanin coloration of the auricles.

The ear is prismatic, medium dense, white, bald, glabrous, with a medium wax coating. There are visible awnlike sprouts up to 1.0 cm on 1/4 of chaff. Oblique, medium-sized shoulder. Tooth straight, very short. Grain is densely covered by chaff. A semi-elongate, red grain, the narrow and shallow crease, the moderate pappus. The phenol is light brown.

Biological characteristics: Middle-early variety, 87 days vegetation period. Resistance to drought is high. Variety on the infectious background is practically resistant to dust-brand, a little below the standard is affected by powdery mildew (at 1.0 point), affected by stinking smut at the standard. The variety delays the growth of brown rust.

Competitiveness: The combination of high yield with excellent baking quality of grain and resistance to leaf pathogens enables this variety to successfully compete with varieties of similar ripeness group.

Commercial value: Variety has a high potential yield by ground and timing of sowing, which is achieved by a combination of drought tolerance, resistance to brown rust and powdery mildew, better survivability, high density of productive plant stand and heavy grains.
